Mental Wellbeing
Monkwearmouth Academy is focused on evidence-based solutions which address pupils and parents/carers needs; the development of a professional community of school mental health experts; and leading change within the area of mental health.
Our work focuses on:
Providing support and guidance for all our stakeholders, including professional development for our staff.
Professional Membership for School Mental Health Leads. We have a fully qualified Senior Mental Health lead based at Monkwearmouth Academy and mental health trained support from our trust.
Collaboration with strategic partners to develop provision and support for school. For example we have established a partnership with the Mental Health foundation and run their Peer Education Programme (PEP).
Mental Health Cluster Meetings to profile innovative and proven work, deepen understanding and support the link between policy and practice.
Pursuit of Mental Health Awards for Schools to evidence and show effectiveness and impact of our whole school approach to Mental Health.
