KS4 CURRICULUM
All students at Monkwearmouth Academy receive an appropriate curriculum. Our curriculum designed to ensure students are offered appropriate courses in order to be successful in their exams and open doors to future opportunities by providing a breadth of skills and knowledge. Having a broad curriculum ensures students have a range of Post 16 options available to them. The intent of our curriculum is to ensure it is broad and balanced, relevant and ambitious for all.
YEAR 10-11 CURRICULUM
At Key Stage 4, students study a range of compulsory core subjects and are able to have an element of choice regarding some of the subjects they wish to continue to study in Years 10 and 11. We refine our offer each year in order to ensure the range of subjects offered are of high quality, relevant to students for their next steps and meet the needs of our students.
Each year, a curriculum booklet is produced. This informs students about core compulsory subjects, along with the optional subjects students can choose form. Students are placed onto an appropriate curriculum each year to ensure they achieve the best possible set of qualifications.
